Featured Album: "Appetite for Destruction" by Guns N' Roses

Updated: Aug 27, 2021

Likely to go down in history as one of the most prolific debuts of all time, “Appetite for Destruction” launched Los Angeles based Guns N’ Roses onto the scene and into the stratosphere! Released on July 21, 1987, the album went more than a year under the radar until tracks like “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Paradise City,” and “Sweet Child o’ Mine” garnered mainstream attention via the massive reach and influence of music video channels like MTV. Despite it’s slow start, the intricate musicianship of guitarist Slash and the controlled erraticism of singer Axl Rose’s vocals gave the album the edge and star-power needed to finally top the U.S. charts for four non-consecutive weeks a year later. The album has since gone 18x platinum, selling 18 million copies in the U.S. (making it the best-selling debut of all time), and selling over 30 million units worldwide!
