“Are You Experienced?” is the 1967 debut studio album from acid rock influencers the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Although Jimi Hendrix’s musical career only lasted for about four years, during that short time he performed as a headliner for the Woodstock Festival in 1969, was named Rolling Stone and Billboard’s artist of the year in 1968, helped break the color barrier of rock music by becoming the world’s highest paid performer in 1970, and altered the course of popular music forever by mastering the craft of the electric guitar and introducing the masses to what’s come to be known as the electric blues. Hear the album that made it into the Library of Congress and that started it all with tracks like “Foxey Lady,” “Third Stone from the Sun,” and “Purple Haze” now on Spotify.
